How Does Hot Cheetos Affect Your Health
A guest post by Heike Riedel, trainer and owner of HR - Seminars, training, coaching
In business, it is not enough today to provide longer, only in its core competencies to be successful, a great performance or a good product. Rather, it comes down to how you perceive your opponent. A good salesman, supervisor, contractor must be able to with strangers in unfamiliar situations to make contact. He must prove to be socially competent. Its distinguishing characteristic is its personality. What makes him self, what is special about him. Because that is what you actually sell, and embody - a piece of themselves
The art of small talk is part of everyday work. It is very important to build relationships and reach out to others. With Smalltalk They form the basis for further contact for your business and your relationships!
Small Talk is a versatile instrument and is usually used to
- to come up with someone to talk,
- to simply record contact with someone who
- to get to know (better),
- to to "sniff" to
- to relax and chat about,
- to each other "warm" to be
- to look at or feel, whether one has a wavelength
- in short, to examine whether the chemistry is right .
It is not so much on what one is talking. What is important is that the talks have a pleasant atmosphere and relaxed from the beginning to the end of stay.
Small Talk is free and deliberate relationship oriented above all. Choose from a favorable response, therefore, issues that are harmless and which will cause your opponent will not specific acts. If you do not want to talk about the weather, you choose the topics who is worthy of the surroundings. The new office furnishings that offer adequate parking in front of the house, the good location, the city ... Also, yesterday or today
TV, hot topics, from sports and culture are suitable. Has proven useful in small talk when you walk into submission and to disclose something of themselves. Very intimate and private affairs should be avoided. Politics, religion, money, problems, gossip, illness, death and family are regarded as taboo subjects.
If you can think of absolutely nothing, forget the voices in your head like "oh what am I saying now" or "what would interest my friend." Instead, ask yourself just what you or your situation at the opposite really interested - and you have a dozen questions and comments with which you can start a conversation. Develop your interest in the other. Also, the gift is appropriate compliment positive free energies under discussion.
Pay attention to positive body language, take an open attitude and hold the eye contact with your interlocutor. Give your counterpart a smile, listen actively and ask questions, keep a distance from the zones, select the proper greeting and introduce yourself and others right in front.
can sometimes develop from this nice chat then a content-full discussion.

What Causes Herpes On Chest
... is not the memory of Cindy Lauper, but the Sunday newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine . Interesting reading. Print is just something different than the Internet.
Why?
posts I've found, after which I had never searched online. Because I did not know that they exist. Let alone that they would be interested. I probably would have ignored or even dismissed it, because if they had somehow appeared on my screen.
But so? The newspaper is in the house and I have them in hand. An interesting picture and an exciting title - already I'm in the middle ended up in the post. And once I am there, I can read him over. So it goes side to side and I will hear from a surgeon who was tatasächlich on the Gorch Fock, learn "Elexis from the chat" to know, now know as Tiger mothers really have with their children (as well as the pros and cons to the tiger mother Bestsellers) , that micro credit has its dark side, that it's not easy to live for a week long player, can be as beautiful, complex mathematical functions and and and ...
Conclusion: at regular intervals should be left to the filtering of the information other times. We learn things from which we had no one that they could interest a ...
What Is That Wall That Seperates A Kitchen From
Oh. My. God. In retrospect, I'm not sure I would have viewed this film at all if I had been aware of, which includes scenes of "Black Swan". I once again found that it is very difficult for me to deal with this kind of bloody scenes, because they will not be displayed "over the top" (as in Zombieland ), but realistic. And honestly, you may call me a coward, but I have not looked closely at some scenes. Already occurring at the very beginning scene with bloody fingers haunts me still. My goodness ... Okay, something quick to act before I fall back into state of shock.
ballerina Nina (Natalie Portman) gets the chance to dance the lead role in a new production of Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake". This is a dream come true for them. Only does director Thomas (Vincent Cassel) to unimagined a challenge: they must not only dance the role of the fragile white swan, for which it is the ideal person, but also that of the seductive black swan. The pressure to meet the requirements, Nina's sense of reality can ever disappear, and she begins to see in the new Company for abutting, fun-loving Lily (Mila Kunis), a rival that wants to take their place. Soon it will be for the audience difficult to distinguish what is delusion and what is reality ...
Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler ) has delivered with Black Swan an impressive psychological thriller with horror elements of this can surprise with a great dance scenes. He plays with the audience, they often can be of long in the dark as to how far Nina's delusions. The film is, it can say so clearly, a little mindfuck.
ballet is certainly a good background to present this character study of a young woman who suffers from control and perfection compulsion and it finally breaks. I do not think the reality of the ballet looks - It may be that dancers go there to their limits, however, to make it as psychologically damaged, would be counterproductive. Who is good enough for the big lead roles, is the dance from the heart and not because he got from his childhood on this life as the only true pre preaches.
Natalie Portman plays Nina absolutely believable and engaging, it brings the vulnerability, the desperation of this character across very well. Probably the best performance of her career and her Oscar for it would be safe. Nina has never had a real life - she lives the dream of her mother and is obsessed with everything always absolutely perfect to make. And then comes the role of the black swan, in which they wickedly erotic, is to be seductive - what she fails. As you should know it well - for her mother, she is still the little "girl love", getting old for ever twelve years, Nina and adapts to the.
Then comes the marvelously played by Mila Kunis Lily, the vibrant life in person. It is just what Nina has to be attempted and the role of the black swan are . Lily convinces Nina to a wild party night, in the Nina probably the first time in life just have fun.
Interestingly, however, in this Nina-Lily-dynamics, as Nina is always on Lily projected, and literally looks at their place. Or Lily looks, although it is not there ... Since offers Black Swan great analytical potential. Just as in the moments when Nina sees blood on their hands, or frantically cut the nails shorter and shorter, so as not more aufzukratzen the back (one of the conventional valves, if you deal with mental pressure can not) - or think you swan wings would grow. For me, some of these scenes on the border of what is tolerable and I have more than once turned a blind eye.
I also liked the use of various other techniques that the Nina's fragile psyche stressed, very good - mirror images a life of its own, giggling female voices out of nowhere, talking pictures ... psychological horror that is certainly not for sensitive souls.
All the other actors are reflected also excellent in their roles. Vincent Cassel plays Leroy Thomas, who sees great potential in Nina and she wants to attract some with questionable methods in the reserve, very convincing and - appropriately, a bit unpleasant.
Barbara Hershey as Nina's mother left us very quickly come to the conclusion that Nina desperately needs a home. Hershey is an over-mother, who wants to see her daughter excel in ballet (which was denied to her in the past), while the personality of her daughter completely suppressed, to be probably without realizing it. Winona Ryder
placed in the supporting role of the former stars of the Company, Beth, who has now been scrapped because of Nina, through an oppressively-good performance.
Let us briefly to the technical aspect. Clint Mansell is a master to take Tchaikovsky's music and adapt to the needs of the film. His compositions also include a very good and provide the appropriate places effective shock effects (damn, you fall again and again inside of it!).
The camera work and cutting are also very wonderful and perfect support act - remain particularly memorable certainly the hysterical party night cut-scene and the scenes from the 2nd and 3 Act of "Swan Lake" performance. And this one mirror shot. * Shudder * They also share the amazing choreography in fantastic scene.
Well. An impressive film. My friends and I were at the beginning of the guy not particularly creative in our opinions. It was limited to "Oh shit!", "Oh my God!", "Was sick!" and "I feel somehow a bit bad." * G * The hall was well attended, with a focus on people between 30 and 50. I am no longer used as an "old" audience. * G * A few isolated young people had lost their way in the movie, but behaved except for the giggles at the masturbation scene, and the Portman / Kunis-bed scene is very good. May have been a bit shocked - I was mine, but that quite a lot of blood for a ballet film ... After that I
the movie with my best friend still widely discussed, since they had to talk about . She almost looked closely all the time and found that exactly this kind of psychological horror that expresses itself in bodily injury, not for you. I can understand. I found some scenes also very challenging, and as I said, I have long looked closely not always (oh god, the scene of the Nail file ...). Not that this aufkäme the impression that we would not find the film well - quite the opposite. The film is excellent. Only she is also very hard.
Conclusion: Great Schaupielerkino, beautiful dance and film psychological thriller with horror elements in one. Certainly not a film for everyone, but absolutely worth a visit to the cinema.

Secondhand Mens White Trenchcoats
Nearly 9 million viewers and a market share of almost 50 percent (14-49 years) gave jungle camp a furious finale. With his celebrity casting RTL format was the lead in audience ratings and market share significantly behind. RTL But it creates not only in this way in the living room. The day after is it directly to other media channels to consumers. Newspapers, magazines, radio, online - everywhere is the camp number 1 topic of conversation Or it would at least see.
But how do they do that?
(fast) is easy: Media and communication psychologists have ever studied even know what a piece of information for as many people and so that readers, listeners and viewers interesting. They have identified ten relevant features:
first Novelty
really live here, we're not, but a little bit. So it seems. Daily one hour (or longer) the highlights of the last 24 hours. And only in the evening show at first hand. And who has not seen yesterday, has just missed something.
second The close proximity
must be given not necessarily geographically - only few can (and want) to imagine life in the jungle. Nearby you can also create themes: belonging to certain groups of people who find themselves in certain situations - and both are in the camp so a lot: candidates with whom we feel connected more or less, and situations that can follow us, or have experienced similar already.
third Concern and scope
concern and scope? Never! Who of us, the driver should have been there consequences? Actually, for anyone. And improperly? For those who sympathize with one or the other camp residents. And there is, pardon was, indeed for any one candidate here: for folk music and pop fans, for casting-show enthusiasts, for the 68, for series-gazing, for wishing to marry, for amateur and professional athletes ...
4th Benefit or harm
Benefits: Join the conversation to the next morning in the canteen.
damage: Do not talk to the next morning in the canteen.
5th Progress and innovation
of progress I would not just but the many innovative jungle tests anyway: talk. Let's see what today has come up again ...
6th It requires unusual
probably no further descriptions.
7th People
people make an information and interesting to a message. Especially when we "know" these people - that is not necessarily personally, a few celebrities do it.
8th Emotions
Only a few of the headlines:
- Tränentag in the jungle camp
- family letters bring campers to cry
- Plays Jay with Indira's feelings?
- Fies: Final friend did!
All headlines are from the jungle camp site - there's even more ...
9th Provocation and drama
This is ensured by the candidates in camp and after. And if not, the moderators have enough provocative slogans in stock.
10th Adult
Yes, too ;-) see
you, the camp has everything an information (a few people sit in the Australian bush and distribute the time) to a message (information and items 1 to 10) makes. And as for journalists and editors information and its relevance to their readers, viewers and listeners exactly the assess the same characteristics, they are also not beat around the camp. And all of us that we are the nightly jungle life does not do that on TV, are nevertheless well informed.
leaves the answer to the question of what PRler can learn from the jungle camp: If you want your text meets with journalists on open arms, you make the information a message. This goes without jungle camp. Here's how: (. Pdf) The successful press release

Lottery Ticket Wording
In my last blog post, you learned "As you in your communication always good (visits) have maps" and what makes a good business card : size, paper weight, Design, content, storage ... so far so good. The best calling card benefits, but not if you carry it with themselves. Your business card is only worth something if someone else owns. How can you use your card even better and what exactly you that you learned today.
Tip 1: Your business card as a short letter
If you do not find a business partner, clients or potential clients, despite a fixed date or on an unannounced visit to his premises, ask the polite assistant (or assistant): allowed "to Mr / woman align ... something? " Try simply times with "Yes, I would. If you give him / her would you please pass the ... " then take your business card, write on the front
Mr. Miller
bw
Regards
and on the white back hopefully something like
Good day Mr. Müller,
is my solution to your problem occurred (*).
I call you on Wednesday at 10 clock!
* depending of course what you had for the other party (an interesting novelty, a great new product ...)
Tip 2: Your business card more personal
If you have won a good customer and you want to design your business card (and your customer relationship) even more personal, please do the following: Once you have your hands over compared to the business card ask him: "Can I have my business card just once back ? get "If you get it, write down your (private) phone number and tell your customers:" Whenever you need regarding our product or our service assistance, please call me at this number "then enter. him back to your card. (seen with coach Martin Limbeck)
Tip 3: send your business card cleverly
You probably know this network meetings, which always go with a thick stack of business cards home. And, what do you do the next morning with it? ... Do you think it is different from the others? At the next event you do not distribute generous, so you do not land on the big stack. Instead, you write the dialogue partners, which is important for one or two days later a nice letter. Refer to your interesting conversation and the exchange of information only and that they had unfortunately failed to pass your business card. What you get in this way and like to present your card at (in a self-adhesive business card pocket, of course, not attached). To fall (and fall your business card) and you have over all other like-yet another advantage: a more contact.
I wish you much fun trying.

Tmobile Call Center Wages
Actually, I intended to write this post last night. I assumed that after this exhausting day (assignment, test, cinema) probably still much to be in high spirits, would like to go to bed. ... I'm wärhend the way home almost fell asleep and got the brief reviews wisely on today moved. Now I am even almost awake!
Mix half a day later: I should no longer post under time pressure - that leads to an exponential increase in typos .* g *
The trailers I have not seen . From the comments of the attending teens but I can assume that the film was sold rather in the style of an American high school comedy, cheap sex jokes included. In order for the film by Stephen Frears (the "The Queen") but not much to do. Tamara Drewe (Gemma Arterton) comes after years of absence from London back to her Home village to prepare the house for the sale of their parents. At that time she was the ugly duckling, but after a nose job she is now a real eye-catcher (the hot pants help too). Their return brings the rural village idyll of a totally beautiful - the already unfaithful selling author (Rogar Allam) wants to, the drummer of a popular rock band (Dominic Cooper) as well, and her childhood friend (Luke Evans) is indeed still there. Put it this way: At the end everyone gets what he deserves.
Frears delivers here a considerable satire about the oh-so-beautiful village setting and the depths of the inhabitants. Adultery, blasphemy land, lack of perspective - no character is really flawlessly. The most lasting impression probably the two teenage girls (Jessica Barden and Charlotte Christie), who are bored to death in this backwater where nothing happens and then bring in their youthful recklessness chaos to Tamara Drewe only really started rolling. This has even their mistakes and take wrong decisions, but is still a likeable person. Gemma Arterton I liked that very well in that role.
certainly not great art, but a pretty snappy, successful British comedy.
Let's put it this way: The Golden Globe nominations can be comfortable with it Declare that Burlesque the only musical was the last season and also Cher plays along. Which explains why the number sung by her, "You have not seen the last of me," the award for Best Song residents and "I see the light" from Rapunzel. The message of this song could have also put in two lines of dialogue ... Ali (Christina Aguilera) lives in a small town in Iowa and wants to finally get out there and on the big stage. So she runs away to Los Angeles and ends up looking for work in the Burlesque Lounge by Tess (Cher). Although the club has seen better days (and Tess is about to lose him because of high debts to the Bank), But Ali is fascinating. It may start as a waitress, and as the star of the show, Nikki (Kristen Bell), fails to step in she gets the chance. What course do not like to see Nikki. Ali is thanks to her great voice and sexy stage presence is the main attraction of the club and a rich customer base (Eric Dane) she intends to bring out great. But what will become of the club? And she finds the bartender Jack (Cam Gigandet) is not much more appealing?
The plot is predictable and of course you can check off the individual points of first things first on the list: Simple girl wants "more" - check. True mentor - check. Gets a chance - check. Emerges as a star - Check. Problems occur - check. Heart pain - check. Everything is good - check. And yet the film has managed to entertain me well. I'm not gone in because of the action - that would not just win the prize for originality was evident. * g * I wanted nice people in great numbers to see dance with cool songs, a bit of glitz and glamor, and I took that.
Christina Aguilera was so clever to seek a role where they have mainly to do what it does: singing and dancing. Otherwise, she seemed in her role but quite believable. The two men courting their favor to keep even wacker (now I know who "McDreamy" is, because that was the first reaction of my friend when Eric Dane made his appearance.) and offer the female audience as well as get to the eye (the men enough scantily clad ladies in Corsets and lace panties, the rich must), but the show steals Stanley Tucci as Tess' right hand. He gets the most laughs is simply nasty and lovable. * G *
The dance scenes are well staged (even if you are already wondering where the huge stage and the whole Requisten come at a time when Aguilera has her performances), the choreography takes especially like to borrow from Bob Fosse (the chair choreography of "Express" was nearly 1 to 1 "My Lord"), but sometimes I felt too to Jerome Robbins' choreography for Gipsy recalls. Looks great in any case and is captured by the camera well. Who could like such films as Coyote Ugly
, Center Stage or Step up is also Burlesque : Very simple.
A superhero movie that sometimes does not start in the summer, but our cold January einheizen wants something. Directed by Michel Gondry, the now rather more unusual by mainstream films like Remember my draws attention to himself. Strange choice. But as it turned out, a good one. Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is the son of a newspaper mogul and now has a wild party life out. After the sudden death of his father, he will now take over the newspaper. This he does with very little enthusiasm, but still makes friends with the mechanic of his father, Kato (Jay Chou). He is not only an ace is to convert cars into real fortresses, he can also cook a great Kung Fu and excellent coffee. When the two thwart an attack, Britt decided that they could now act as a superhero - but not to be perceived by the public as a hero (that would be boring and the bad guys would let you know immediately that they the good guys are). Britt and Kato's activities, however, remain the big crime boss Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz) is not hidden - they liked it not at all.
Seth Rogen appears only once as an inappropriate choice for a superhero. As Britt's just a normal guy with no special talents, however, Rogen again but somehow fits very well - in addition, Kato's so nice to them to build a car that could make even Batman jealous. Kato is basically the star of the film - he is the one who makes the bad guys flat, taking care of the technology, it is good in that. Especially nice is it when the Eifersüchtelein between Britt and Kato escalate more and more (also because both Britt's new secretary - played by Cameron Diaz - want to win for themselves).
Christoph Waltz is terrific as a gangster Chudnofsky that no one finds so really scary to think what it is, of course. Waltz also plays this villain, probably a Russian-born Austrian or so, with a certain portion of charm, which leads straight into a wild chase near the end to one of the best laughs of the film. And nice to know
confirms me afterwards: So this was actually James Franco in a Cameoauftritt! Very cool!
Optical makes The Green Hornet some ago, fast, entertaining fight scenes, nice effects, well employed 3D (only in the post-added and not overly spectacular, but - it does so after all), a tiny pinch of trash - and a very colorful and somewhat cool guy (the one must mention now just).
Very positive surprise - this superhero show I also like a sequel.

How Does Does Spotting
your standard dimensions are 85-54-0,20. Your weight is about 1.2 grams No, I do not mean the top model from the last talent show. It is a small piece of cardboard, which is indispensable in communicating the business world and even in times of electronic media has lost none of its importance: the business card.
Summary For rush
The business card is what you are after a written or personal visit left. It represents you and your home. Your benefits go far beyond the sharing of contact information out.
A g carton thickness 250-350 / m is good reason the best choice: Comparing the business card with a handshake, it is resistant, resistant , but not intrusive strong and "inflexible". Deviations from the standard measure (credit card format) to fall though, but should be carefully thought through in terms of their usefulness.
Besides Logos are complete name and complete address of over-reaching the minimum information on the business card. Other design elements and colors you dose careful. It's best to leave ran a professional.
absolutely prohibited: "One for all", ie business cards that were printed in large numbers for the entire company and do not contain personal information. The map takes its most important characteristic: personality.
The business card represents you and your house
The business card is more than a piece of cardboard, it's just your business card. Even clearer is that when you look in the "Duden - German dictionary" interjects
" Vi - 85 x 54 mm - is the standard size for business cards. However, since there is no fixed rule, again, other dimensions, for example, used 90 x 50 mm or 90 x 45 mm. More important than the numbers game with millimeters, the storage ability of the business card. Adjusts to accommodate them in the compartments of a standard wallet (which have usually credit card size), and can wrap the receiver in his pockets for business cards, or boxes, without being cumbersome to first prune?
The grammage of the box is important for the durability of the card. The lighter the paper, the faster it is a tear or fray at the edges of - the business card is unattractive. Not to be underestimated is the tactile impression. Compare business card with a handshake mind: its easy to undecided paper, soft, pliable - you have "nothing in hand." In severe cases reminds us of a handshake, he is like a vice: This comparison has nothing to oppose it, he determines where to go. Ideal and most common is cardboard with a weight of 250 to 350 g / sqm. That's handy, but not too tight - just like a handshake partnership.
Less is more The design ranges from conventional (almost minimalist) to lush and futuristic. Because the design of nearly boundless are set, one sometimes loses sight of the essentials: It's a business card and is intended to stay - no flyers, not a business folder, not a brochure.
The logo (if any) must be on the business card, just basic contact information of the bearer. This information, clearly laid out and attractive, are sufficient.
Other elements should only be used with utmost restraint and caution. You can download the business card to fully unstructured and allowed to work. To avoid this, professional work is needed: graphic designers know what "good" arrives and when the border for "too much" exceeds.
way:
include the contact information of the person submitting the mandatory first name and surname. So please no standard business cards for the entire company, with a "presented by" and the phone number of the telephone. Your business card is just about the most personal means of advertising, you can leave. Make them not to an impersonal piece of paper.
currently Always, always in top form
your business card must be current. Outdated phone numbers, handwritten changes on stuck, contact information, are taboo. If it fails even to their own business cards, how can you then you and your (Services) may leave benefits?
Keep your business cards to hand-off "humanely" - so keep them in designated boxes and cases on. This will keep them to hand over clean and undamaged. In letters to offer documents or other "transportation" use self-adhesive business card pockets (eg Schönherr
available) - Mail or staples are now prohibited.

The film was (and is) my personal
"Best of ... 2010" - remember? Not only the film itself, especially the history behind it struck me: "Extractor" Dom Cobb stealing secrets from the subconscious, by penetrating into the dreams of the secret support. His new job is more difficult by far: He is someone an idea, "plant". To achieve this, the respondent and accepted this idea as his own, Cobbs and his team must enter the same dream several levels deep. At the risk of there not come out again ...

Answers To Lab 8 Ap Bio
"I did not know" - we can no longer . Say "That is I do not care" - we would have to say, if we continue to buy meat from factory farms.
That would give me after reading the book "Eating animals" - "eating animals" by Jonathan Safran Foer difficult, however. The author gathers not only impressive background, as was agriculture to agro-industry in recent decades, and farms degenerated into soulless industrial equipment of factory farming: "No Entry" -
It also shows that animals have just as Inputs to be seen as commodities that have to be to market quickly and profitably. Ethical aspects considered by its position as strange. And although in countries - emphasize their Christian tradition, where pets are pampered and spoiled, where more money is spent on pet food for the world hunger relief - at least in Christmas speech. While animals for farming are bred to run, they can hardly.
What have we become accustomed to? What is social now "normal"? That battles for martyrdom is for animals to a small percentage - but the means hundreds of thousands per year - alive through the slaughter process, until they have died in agony. Not to mention the workers in these slaughter houses that are under inhuman conditions to members of a sophisticated killing machine - so it is cheap to the table, our Sunday chop.
Foer makes many different positions to speak: the meat producers, the poultry farmers, the developer of slaughterhouses, the vegan diet is a member of the animal rights organization PETA vegetarian cattle breeder. He can tell by their decisions and developments, their experiences and moral conflict. Thus, any reader can even take a picture. And Foer has meticulously researched - such as the avian and swine influenza have emerged, where the dangers of factory farming are, medically, environmentally, economically. He is entered at night in the stables, which are hermetically sealed and guarded - and is always asking: What should in these stalls do not see it then? Or: what we gain when the banquet a turkey on our table is? He lets us share his own doubts and thoughts that were triggered by the birth of his son.
determine if we need to ensure that industrial farming has turned into animal cruelty, how can we avoid the question he is, what you have done, than you have to know the truth about eating animals? For we have in our daily shopping, the choice whether we buy products of factory farming or not and whether this increase merit and power of this sector - or not.

is now the year a few days old and the good intentions have long been thrown overboard: The calendar is overflowing, the gym has been seen since New Year only once from inside and the thing with smoking - well: every year. If that's you is something like this too, here are some tips to help you realize your good intentions into action and achieve your goals.
Be realistic
A clear definition of goals is the be all and - only if the goal is clearly defined, you know what you must do to achieve the goals and when Your goal is reached. So: "I two hours each day will keep available for free" instead of "I will have fewer appointments. Or: "Up to 31 December, we won 50 new clients "instead of" We want to win 2011 new customers. " Complex goals that can only be achieved over a large period of time, broken down into sub-goals. To keep track of the status of target achievement.
Create liability
The forces are indeed balanced in the fight against the "weaker", but he is very resourceful in terms of potential obstacles. Non Traditional Invitation Wording
I'm in the right mood, then follows again a book review . "Life of Pi" was awarded the 2002 Booker Prize, the most important British Book Award, and was elected for a refreshingly different book for a change, it has!
The main character of the book is the Piscine Molitor Patel Indian boy, Pi briefly mentioned. Raised as the son of a Zoobesitzers in Pondicherry, his fascination for all sorts of wild animals was to speak in the cradle. As a teenager, he then begins to take an interest in faith and religion - a little strange, but his parents are not very religious. Pi is so fascinated that he takes to his Hindu faith, even that of Islam and Christianity. Due to difficult political situation, decides his father, emigrate with the family and various zoo animals to Canada. Unfortunately, the ship sinks after not too long trip in the Pacific - the rescue boat must share with an adult Bengal tiger - the only human survivor of the now completely Pi but he is not, however, is.
It all sounds kind of wacky plentiful. A teen who belongs to three religions, sitting with a tiger in a lifeboat in the Pacific. And yet it works. I did not expect that the book I could be as much as it is the tie will ultimately did.
"Life of Pi" is divided into three unequal sections. The first describes Pis Youth in Pondicherry, we find out what people have influenced him, how it came about that he immediately accepted three religions, which he carried all the zoo animals to wild animals in general learned. Just the religious aspect of the book had discouraged me in advance. Such topics are so happy with a wagging finger. But Martel is not a religion as the "better" out and a dispute between ministers of the three major world religions leads the ancient prejudices against even wonderful.
This section appears some people probably a bit long-winded (judging by various reviewers) - I found him to read but very enjoyable. In addition, many information for future events are important, some Kleingkeit is off until the end perfect sense.
Section two is the longest and treated Pis time as castaways. You would think that this particular section can not be particularly exciting - Pi drifting in a boat on the sea for nothing but water around him, above him the infinite sky, and a tiger on board. But Martel manages to indicate that this section is especially interesting and exciting. Pis deep inside is not disclosed, but one has the feeling of sitting with him under the scorching sun, emaciated and nearly died of thirst. The desperation is palpable Pis, as the will to survive him forcing himself to overcome itself again and again. The
final section is very short and still plays Pis return to civilization (so I will not tell too much, the outcome of the action from the beginning is no secret - and thus it is even more erstaundlicher that Martel can keep the tension in the middle section) . And what a surprising twist just in this chapter the reader is waiting - very good! The end of thought-provoking - and I would not answer the question differently. * G *
A certain the reader will must be present to engage in this book. It is no mystery, no romance, not an action thriller. It is a little exotic, but that's why there are books - a little bit of magic spray to the reader a different world to kidnap. "Life of Pi" is at times quite funny, it is dramatic, sad, disgusting, cruel, forgiving, hopeful. Martel writes mostly very clear and easily, sometimes in great detail. A preface the author gives insight into how he ever came to writing this book. The chapters are in the first section here and there by pressing Martel, who meets with Pi, interrupted, and in some cases very short - why there are so many, is explained in the book as well. :)
All in all a really commendable book - a bit different than the other books out there, but just so adorable and very intelligent and still do Thought-provoking. For me, a terrific start to the harvest of 2011.

Sears Catalog Girdle Ads Sears Catalog?
Happy New Year to you all!
Because I made last year so much fun at the "evaluation" was, I also have my admissions this year's events. Again, I take a look at my top films of the year, the biggest disappointment, for good and bad audiences.
It has done very well was: 2010, it has drawn me to the movies 47 times (2009: 19 times), which alone accounted for 23 visits to my family of cinema. Three Time I found myself again in even more obscure, small cinemas in Aachen, Cologne and Dusseldorf. 13 visits fell into the first Quarter, the 2nd 10. In the 3rd Quarter, I was rather lazy, with just over 5 visits, only to the 4th Quarter with 19 visits again properly to the gas. One should finally end the year well. * G *
the whole admissions, there are 8 movies that I have each seen twice, and even two movies that I went four times to the movies (the latter are "Alice in Wonderland" and "Rapunzel").
That was the year to decide a little more difficult than in last. I found some movies on different levels simply great, but if I take everything together and think about what film has not a single inappropriate moment, or even a single disturbing character, well, it is "Toy Story 3" . Simply fits all: plot, characters, humor, drama, emotion. One expects such a thing even by Pixar, but this movie is so perfectly round, the time flew away and the only way in the end I'm crying again. :) I've watched the movie again and again cried, * g * And I am again very happy about it, that there is a Totoro plush character in the movie is.! Pixar, I ♥ you!
'll see if that Pixar Place can defend it next year ... Half
honor but I would like to also mention, in any case "Inception," "The Social Network" and "A Single Man."
From the very nasty slip-ups this year, I've seen movies fortunately no (As representative for "Grown Ups" is named). But a film I've done to me, although I knew that I would get through the film only if I by delivering between stupid comments. Bot is indeed a call. The question is naturally "Clash of the Titans" . This was somehow very trashy (especially the Gods in Olympus, oh God!), and mostly just boring and "thanks" of the crappy 3D's not even good to look at. Gemma Arterton is reasonably well off, it has to do nothing, but looks nice after all. The horse was good. And Hans Matheson, whom I will be eternally grateful for his two funny scenes. Otherwise
is actually the only really positive thing I say about this movie that I went in as a favor for a friend and she was able to force this to go with me in 'Kick-Ass ".
Hm Because there is now also a number of films for the crown argue, but no sticks out like last year, "Zombieland" or "Brüno. I would be a tie between "Men Who Stare at Goats" call and "some other cops."
"Goat" has taken center my humor better than the many other visitors, I think, but the film builds towards the end from some, unfortunately. Nevertheless, I myself enjoyed themselves immensely.
"Cops", however, has to offer at the end still have good moments in between, however, has minor sagging. But "offers Peil the bushes," this film takes a louder, more obvious screamer ("I am a peacock, let fly me ") - and I find Will Ferrell funny just on principle. * G *
fact you could say that I am now here "Toy Story 3" as the winner announced - after the film has brought me really cry. And laugh a lot have.
BUT, emotionally disturbing was another film that bothered me a long time afterwards: "A Single Man" . A simply beautiful-sad movie with great actors who really touched me deeply.
This is definitely "How to Train Your Dragon." Based on the trailer and the fact that Dreamworks is the studio behind it, I did not have particularly high expectations of the film. Finally, we had just released before the fourth "Shrek" movie on mankind. And then I was enchanted. A good story, lovable characters, and above all heart - how it is fine, Dream Works, which is the right way! This one of the best movie soundtracks, 2010 (the drums !), Very nice 3D-realized, especially in the flying scenes - a really good movie. And some more a surprising twist at the end. disappointed
really bad this year I was not really a movie. Even the much panned by critics but "The Tourist" I do not find it so bad. However, it is a movie that I had promised more - and more could have been in the making: the remake of "Fame". So really, who was lax. As would have been possible, especially me as a viewer, the characters, unless maybe one or two, left totally cold. Impractical, if one is to sympathize with it, as dreams come true or very well burst.
most positive memories I had in the audience at my first "Inception" visit. From about half of the film were all great with and I've ever not seen a whole movie at the end of the front edge of the seat, all staring imploringly loud and hard to the canvas. The end is also common. * G *
Second place goes to the public at the second visit of "The something other cops." I had concerns because there are so many kids in the hall was, but the atmosphere was really good.
good were the visitors in "The Cabinet of Doctor Parnassus", mainly because the majority (including myself accompanying my girlfriend) and did not know or had forgotten that Johnny Depp and Co. cooperate. Since a murmur went through the hall ... * G *
I have, unfortunately, some nominations bear "honorary" incredibly annoying individuals, but generally the worst audience I had in 'Just to have. " My goodness, because there were absolutely no reaction! What a boring-disinterested audience I had ever any more. Yes, sorry, but the film can not help it, that was "Harry Potter" sold out!
Well, now to the Specialists who have consistently tried to spoil my other films. Since
would first remove the two annoying, giggling women in the row behind us "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1" . Not only that - often at the most inappropriate places - according to giggle or make disruptive comments (there are people who have a sensor for quiet scenes that are to act because of the silence - the chatter just release it), NO, they were also alternate three times during this 2.5-hour film on order, respect! to get beer. It was kind of surreal. There was the guy in front of us, who went after about an hour, a smoke and accordingly smell came back, so do nothing against.
were also wonderful about the twelve year old boys in "Up in the Air" in which I was sure that they had lost. No, they did not exist. One of them was obviously interested in the movie, the other two do not. Loud chatter, and Tütengeraschel Rumgehampel followed until after about half an hour left the room. * Phew *
mention I also have just the odd couple, in "Nine" landed. They went after 10 minutes. There was not yet been sung - or had already given a song? 'm Not sure. This was somehow a very strange moment.
And then of course the wretched brats (well be, seventeen, she will have been) that we had in the second visit of "Alice in Wonderland" to endure. The girls wanted to see the film, her male companion apparently not what they started about half an hour before the end also to make clear. Loud comments like "Maaaannn is the boring," etc., standing in the front seat, chatter, and the girls did not feel like it. About fifteen minutes before the end of the film left the little group the hall. My goodness, how stupid can you be. Sleep yet, when you suck the film takes place! Many of the male companion at the time of "Twilight" well done ...
Again, I was hit in one or other of deja vu film.
I had but two in "Sherlock Holmes". Sun is in it a odorless and tasteless was before, and the only thing I could think of powder, "Tihi, Jokanpulver" Who has seen "The Princess Bride," knows. * G * Also, I am reminded strongly of a scene towards the end of a similar in "The Cabinet of Doctor Parnassus," which I had seen recently: Someone hung dangling from a bridge. * Shiver * That was a slightly macabre accident.
"Prince of Persia" also had a "The Princess Bride" to provide moment: Dastan is haunted by his brother and a few soldiers who are obviously great in tracking, and the only thing that occurs to me here is, "he can on a cloudy day follow a hawk, he will find you! "* g * Of the whole of" Pirates of the Caribbean "recalling moments I caught the best not even to ...
The visit by the Chaplin film "Modern Times" in which a large orchestra playing live music for the film was wonderful. A very special atmosphere, and the film itself is not bad anyway.
Also heard the loud giggles, as in "The Tourist" at the end but actually Marcus Off (German Jack Sparrow voice) and he is so obvious as Sparrow, that the audience does not remain hidden. * G *
Furthermore, it was there that a male visitor, I must mention simply because he was in "The Twilight Saga Eclipse" ever for one of the best movie moments caused. In the awaited from the "Twilight" fans Bella / Edward-bed scene Bella will finally come to the point, Edward keeps them from (for he is noble), I watch Bella bedröppelt incredible - and right in the most peaceful moment of this scene, it is grad unbelievable intense and emotional (blabla), says the visitor, totally dry and matter-of-fact: ". Idiot" It was EPIC.
And, finally, my best friend also mentioned that absolutely wanted to watch with me, "Rapunzel". The film draws to a close, it is dramatic, but of course is good, and suddenly I hear my side a slight sniffle.
Me: "Have you allergy again" (because she does not cry even in theaters)
you: "no." Stealthily sniff * *
I: "Are you crying because of the movie"
* happy * you: "Yes, Man, I'm on so kitsch: D
And what a wonderful Reconciliation ...
I had not even thought of before ( even though I was hoping it), but "Rapunzel" addict. Four times and I could go in again and again, just so beautiful it is. The film reminds me so much of Disney's renaissance with the "Fab Four", it comes across the same atmosphere, the fun, the fabulous ... hach. * Sigh * Just schööööööön.
Well, that was my movie of 2010 in fast-forward. Let's see what 2011 brings so!
